Moroccan Striker Youssef El Arabi Named Greek Super League Player of the Year
And three for the Moroccan international Youssef El Arabi rewarded for the efforts and talent deployed with Olympiacos by winning the trophy for best player of the season in Greece. A crowning achievement for the Atlas Lion who, in February, had received two awards, that of top scorer and best foreign player in the Greek championship.
Installed at Olympiacos since 2019, Youssef El Arabi was elected best player of the Greek championship following a poll organized by the local League on social networks. The player came out on top with (48.71%) out of 17 nominated players. In the top 3, we find behind the Moroccan, Ahmed Hassan Kouka (34.74%) of Olympiacos and the Aris player, Luca Sacha who collected 4.5% of the votes.
At 34, the Atlas Lion is the top scorer in the league with 20 goals. A very good performer who has become the 4th player to score in three consecutive matches against Arsenal in major European competitions after Lionel Messi of Barcelona, the Bayern Munich duo Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski.
This award also comes to restore strength and confidence to the player who was recently sentenced to one year in prison by the Montpellier court for a case of violence dating back to 2017.
