Moroccan Striker Idrissi Sent Off for Striking Opponent’s Groin in Mexican League Match

The Moroccan striker of Pachuca, Oussama Idrissi, was expelled on Sunday from the match against León after hitting a player from the opposing team in the genitals.
The 2024-2025 season is starting badly for Oussama Idrissi. The Moroccan striker of the Mexican club Pachuca was expelled from the match against León after hitting Stiven Barreiro in the genitals. The incident occurred about half an hour after the start of the match, reports sdpnoticias.
The central referee consulted the VAR to review the action and Oussama Idrissi’s gesture before showing him the red card and sending him to the locker room. The player of Los Tuzos struck the opposing player in the genitals after a tackle from the latter.
Despite being down a man, the team led by Guillermo Almada managed to get a draw (0-0). For his part, Idrissi should receive a one-match suspension for his unsportsmanlike gesture and will not be able to play the match against Atlético San Luis scheduled for this Tuesday.
The Moroccan has emerged as one of the best wingers since his arrival in Liga MX. But this is not the first time he has been sent off in a match. Last season, he had also received a red card in the match against Necaxa, which had prevented him from participating in the first leg of the quarter-finals against America.
