Moroccan Star Ounahi’s Dilemma: La Liga Dreams vs. Marseille Loyalty Amid Transfer Saga
Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi has not left Olympique de Marseille (OM). He is in a zone of uncertainty about his future.
While OM hopes to make a big deal, Azzedine Ounahi maintains his choice to join Girona or stay at Marseille without discussing other alternative offers. He had previously declined the offer from Panathinaikos, worth up to 10 million euros, a club where he had played on loan the previous season. This has caused frustration for the Marseille management, led by former Moroccan international Mehdi Benatia. According to sources close to the Moroccan international, Ounahi is not thinking of any other option than playing in "La Liga", or remaining on the OM bench if the French club’s management insists that he continues.
Meanwhile, Girona continues to express interest in the 25-year-old player. The Spanish club is considering increasing the value of its financial offer, reports Hesport, adding that it should include other clauses and benefits for OM. It remains to be seen whether Girona could convince the Marseille club to let their Moroccan midfielder leave this summer.
