Moroccan-Spanish MMA Star Er-Ramy Set for PFL Europe Showdown in Paris

The Spanish fighter of Moroccan origin, Abdellah Er-Ramy, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) star, faces Simeon Powell next Saturday in Paris as part of the PFL Europe.

The PFL brings together the 32 best MMA fighters in all of Europe. The participants in this international league obtained their ticket after winning their fights in Newcastle in March and in Berlin in July. The winners at the Zénith Paris La Villette on Saturday will get their ticket for the final scheduled for December 8 in Dublin.

Er Ramy, 27, obtained his ticket for Paris after his victory in Newcastle. Next Saturday, he will face the undefeated Siméon Powell in the playoffs of the light heavyweight division at the Zénith Paris La Villette. The fighter of Moroccan origin has undergone a physical transformation in recent years. "I weighed 120 kilos, and a few years ago I changed my eating habits. It wasn’t easy," he explains in an interview with Men’s Health.

Abdellah Er-Ramy wants to win his fight in Paris, then the final on December 8 in Ireland. He puts a lot of pressure on himself for the fight against Powell on Saturday. "I always focus on the fight I’m leading, by simulating and imitating my rivals. It’s a strategic work to minimize mistakes," confides the Moroccan who wants to resemble legends like Fedor Emelianenko or Jon Jones, or even Chimaev.

For Er Ramy, "fear is a tool. If you know how to control it, it helps you get the best out of yourself. If you let it reach you, it consumes you. I use fear to develop my senses to the maximum." In five years, the fighter hopes to reach the top of this sport.
