Rising Star Mo Touchassie Steps In for Title Fight Against Champion Donegi Abena
Kickboxer Mo Touchassie, nicknamed "Baby Badr", faces this Saturday at the Gelmodrome, Donegi Abena, the reigning light heavyweight champion, in place of Tarik Khbabez, injured. The fighter has had only five days to prepare for this duel.
Touchassie had this unique opportunity to face the champion after the unavailability of Tarik Khbabez due to a broken thumb. "At the end of my training on Tuesday, I was talking to other guys and my coach Mike Passenier, when the news of Tarik’s injury was announced. I joked: hmm, maybe it’s an opportunity for me? Later in the afternoon, Mike calls me and asks: ’How do you feel?’ I replied: ’I feel good, I’m ready.’ Mike said: ’That’s good, because you’re going to get in the ring on Saturday.’ No, I didn’t have to think about it long and I had no doubts. I’m a fighter. A fighter doesn’t back down from a fight," he told the newspaper AD.
After fighting in the welterweight category at Enfusion and middleweight at Glory, Touchassie will compete this Saturday for the light heavyweight title. The kickboxer has an impressive record. He has not lost any of his fights, totaling fifteen wins in fifteen fights, twelve of them by KO. The fighter is focused on the fight this Saturday. "It’s still the main event before the heavyweight title fight for Rico Verhoeven. One thing is already certain: I will have the massive support of The Hague fans," said Touchassie.
