Moroccan Social Media Users Push for Closer Ties with Israel, Citing Shared Interests
Moroccan Facebookers have called for normalization with Israel following an opinion poll launched by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its "Israel Speaks Arabic" page.
Moroccan Facebookers justify their call by the fact that they are "states and peoples who love peace, and who attach no importance to religious differences. They also belong to the Mediterranean where customs and traditions are similar, not to mention the fact that they need to establish economic cooperation between them," reports Morocco Jewish Times.
For many Internet users, it is time for Israel to strengthen its relations with neighboring countries, particularly Syria and Lebanon, due to the significant economic fallout that could result. They propose the opening of a passage from Israel to Europe via Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. Other Internet users have called on Israel to establish relations with Iraq, considered the cradle of the greatest civilization in history. Better yet, the country has a strategic geographical location with Israel.
"All countries need foreign policies and good relations with all countries in the world, without exception," writes one of the followers of this "Israel Speaks Arabic" page.
