Moroccan Social Media Calls for Boycott of Tunisian Goods Amid Diplomatic Tensions

In the wake of the diplomatic crisis between Rabat and Tunis, calls for a boycott of Tunisian products are being launched on social media in Morocco. Internet users are multiplying initiatives to express their anger.
Reactions continue to protest against the reception of the Polisario leader by Tunisian President Kais Saied. After Morocco’s cancellation of its participation in the 8th edition of TICAD and the boycott of the Tunisian edition of the North African Karate Championship, activists have launched a campaign against Tunisian products sold in Morocco.
This "unfriendly" act has sparked the anger of internet users who have invested in social media, calling for a boycott of Tunisian products such as BIC brand pens that would be made in Tunisia. The barcodes as well as the Tunisian brands available on the Moroccan market are massively shared on social networks.
Some have also called for the withdrawal of Moroccan companies established in Tunisia, in particular the Attijariwafa Bank group, whose subsidiary Attijari Bank is the leading Tunisian banking network, employing more than 1,500 people. The latter has categorically denied its departure from Tunisia.
