Moroccan Soccer Star’s Height Joke Sparks Backlash on Social Media

On Instagram, apparently thinking he was doing well, Moroccan international Youssef El-Arabi wanted to congratulate Mbarek Boussoufa for his performance in the match against South Africa and wrote: "Ness Mitro Mabrouk". This literally means: "Congratulations, the half-meter".
They are probably friends and are used to "teasing each other". But this post by El Arabi did not please many Internet users. They did not appreciate this reference to Boussoufa’s size and weight in a public post.
It should be noted that El Arabi was talking about the winning goal scored by Boussoufa during the match between the "Atlas Lions" and South Africa.
Goud.ma explains that many Internet users took screenshots of this post and shared it massively, provoking a flood of criticism against El Arabi for his "Ness Mitro" which leaves something to be desired.
A quick internet search shows that Mbarek Boussoufa, who plays for Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia, is 1.67m tall and weighs 58kg. One wonders: why this nickname?
