Designated "Man of the Match" of the Morocco-Namibia match, which saw the victory of the "Atlas Lions", the veteran of the national team, Mbark Boussoufa, looks back on this game, in an interview he gave to the weekly magazine, Challenge. Above all, he addresses the next match of the "Lions". It will oppose, on Friday, June 28, 2019, Morocco to Côte d’Ivoire.
Pleased to have won the "Man of the Match" trophy for the first match played by his team in this 32nd Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which is taking place on Egyptian soil, Mbarek Boussoufa says that the most important thing remains the precious victory of the "Lions": "I am delighted to receive the "Man of the Match" trophy, but it is not as important as the three points we obtained," confides the veteran of the national team.
For Boussoufa, who is returning on the preparation of the "Lions" for the biggest sports competition on the African continent, "the group is ready" because having received the necessary care to allow each player to give the best of himself".
Addressing the preparation of the second match of the "Lions", which will pit them against the "Elephants" of Côte d’Ivoire, Mbark Boussoufa first highlighted the qualities of the opposing team, which he says he considers "one of the best in Africa with players endowed with enormous individual and physical abilities, who can make the difference at any time of the match".
The two teams have already faced each other more than once: "We have faced them recently on several occasions and it has always been very difficult," he recalls, before reassuring the supporters of the "Lions": "We will try our best to get a positive result in this match".
Speaking in particular about the supporters, Boussoufa said he owed a debt of gratitude to this fine crowd without whom the national team could not be highly motivated to move forward.
