Moroccan Soccer Star Arrested in Mediterranean Migrant Smuggling Attempt

A player from the Renaissance sportive de Berkane is involved in a case of illegal immigration.
Currently in France, far from his unfortunate companions, Yassine Mahyou, this former Berkani, bought a boat to ensure the Mediterranean crossing for 18 of his companions, reports the daily Assabah. "My friends and I had decided to immigrate illegally to Europe. Each one gave 30,000 dirhams to buy a boat," the player said.
In the name of his popularity, Yassine Mahyou, a former Lion Cub, was allowed to put the purchased boat in his name. Unfortunately, they were arrested on the day, after paying 110,000 DH the day before to a supervisor to serve as a scout, the same source specifies.
Now with his back to the wall, the day after the failed immigration attempt, the former Berkani player had to sell the boat at a loss to reimburse his companions at the rate of 20,000 DH each.
His friends, demanding the full amount, are putting pressure on the illegal immigrant in France who has promised them the sale of one of his properties to repay the remainder.
