Moroccan Soccer Players Missing at Sea After Beach Outing Turns Tragic

A sea outing that turns into a tragedy. This is the sad fate experienced by five members of the Ittihad de Tanger football club, including players from the first team and the hope category.
While they were enjoying a sunny afternoon off the coast of Restinga beach, near M’diq, their escapade took a tragic turn.
Their yacht, left unattended while they were swimming, was swept away by strong winds and contrary currents. The five men found themselves adrift, fighting for their survival in a very rough sea.
Alerted quickly, the rescue services arrived quickly on the scene. Their intervention made it possible to save three of the shipwrecked, exhausted but safe and sound, nearly a kilometer from the coast. Unfortunately, two of their companions could not be found.
Since then, the search has continued, mobilizing the means of the Royal Gendarmerie and the Royal Navy.
