Moroccan-German Couple Rescued After Days Stranded in Snowy Mountains

Rachid Harchaoui and his German wife were found safe and sound on Monday, after being trapped by heavy snowfall in a mountainous area in Morocco.
The couple, who left on an excursion last Friday between Msemrir and Zaouiat Ahansal, found themselves blocked by the bad weather. Faced with this situation, the Moroccan authorities quickly deployed significant search resources.
Despite difficult weather conditions and rugged terrain, the rescue teams, supported by the Royal Gendarmerie and friends of the couple, managed to locate the hikers. A Royal Gendarmerie helicopter was mobilized to evacuate them to the city of Azilal where they could receive the necessary care.
The Ministry of the Interior is said to have also closely followed the operation, ensuring the mobilization of all available resources to find the missing persons.
