Moroccan Singers Face New Hearing in 'Hamza mon bb' Social Media Scandal

The next hearing of the singer Dounia Batma and her sister Ibtissam is scheduled for February 24. This is the decision of the investigating judge at the court of first instance in Marrakech, in charge of the "Hamza mon bb" case.

The judge postponed the decision regarding the potential prosecution of the two sisters, after the appearance of a new "civil party", in the person of the blogger, Samira Daoudi. Dounia Batma and her sister Ibtissam were confronted, among others, with the latter, during the hearing on Monday, February 10, which lasted more than 7 hours.

The Batma sisters would also have been confronted with another blogger, Soukaina Jannah, who had accused them in her testimony of being directly linked to the administration of the Hamza mon bb accounts, according to h24info.

According to the same source, the blogger was sentenced to 2 years in prison with a fine of 10,000 dirhams, late at night from Tuesday to Wednesday, February 12. Adnane Sakkine alias "Moul El Ferrari" and the Hiba Press journalist, Mohamed Dahir, were also sentenced to two years in prison and will have to pay a fine of 10,000 dirhams each.

These fines represent damages to certain victims of the accounts, including the Youtuber, Noureddine El Gharrabi, "Niba", and the president of the Moroccan Center for Human Rights (CMDH), Mohamed Madimi.
