Moroccan Stylist Extradited in High-Profile Social Media Scandal

The arrest of Aïcha Ayach, the alleged main sponsor of the "Hamza mon bb" accounts on Instagram and Snapchat, took place on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, in the United Arab Emirates. The fashion stylist was the subject of an international arrest warrant.

After her arrest, Aïcha Ayach was extradited to Morocco. This, thanks to a judicial cooperation agreement between the kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, signed in April 2016, indicates TelQuel.

The thirty-year-old woman would be involved in the "Hamza mon bb" case, anonymous accounts present on the social networks Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook, since 2018. These accounts specialize in publishing scoops and compromising photos targeting personalities and celebrities.

Since the outbreak of this case, several people have been questioned. Among them, the singer Dounia Batma and her sister Ibtissam, whose legal troubles continue, a Moroccan police officer, sentenced to 10 months in prison and a fine of 2,000 dirhams, the blogger, Soukaina Jannah, alias "Glamour", the journalist Simo Daher, and the owner of a car rental agency, each sentenced to a two-year prison sentence and a fine of 10,000 DH. The hacker (Oussama J.), for his part, was sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of 10,000 dirhams.

Meanwhile, Aïcha Ayach, the alleged main sponsor of the "Hamza mon bb" accounts, was actively sought by the Emirati security services.
