Moroccan Singer Ihab Amir Hints at Leaving Music Amid Religious Controversy

A response from singer Ihab Amir to one of his Instagram followers is causing controversy in Morocco.
"Amine, oh God, do it quickly. [...] I will not hate, but soon, if God wills, I will leave the artistic scene as a singer, and I will not give up art, I will continue to practice it but in a way that pleases God," the singer Ihab Amir responded to one of his Instagram followers who encouraged him to repent and move away from music. He also revealed that music is not his main source of income but that he has another profession. Finally, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the great value given to what he described as "other people at the expense of the children of the country."
These statements by the singer have sparked controversy. To try to cut short the rumors, the one who participated in the 11th season of the Arab Star Academy, he called not to interpret his words and not to accuse him of contradiction. He insisted that he "spoke from a religious point of view." And he added: "May God guide us and guide you."
