Moroccan Security Forces Thwart Terrorist Plot Targeting Officials and Civilians

The dismantling of a terrorist cell in the cities of Témara, Tangier, Tiflet and Skhirate was at the heart of the press conference given by the director of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ). Abdelhak Khiame stated that the members of this network had in their sights civilian and military personalities as well as local authorities of the police and the royal gendarmerie.
According to the director of the BCIJ, the five members of the dismantled cell were almost at the final stage of their project which was to confront several key figures in Morocco. Fortunately, the intelligence services thwarted this infernal plan. For Abdelhak Khiame, "the security services have a great capacity to trace and intercept the movements of terrorist cells and the stages of their progression".
During the media outing, the official revealed that the number 1 of the dismantled cell is a fish seller with a criminal past. The others are ordinary people with rather modest jobs. The director of the BCIJ finally indicated that the dismantled cell had pledged allegiance to Daesh.
