After five years of good and loyal service at the head of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), Abdelhak Khiame, the very first head of this institution, is leaving his post. He is replaced by his deputy, Haboub Cherkaoui.
At the age of 62 and one month away from retirement, Abdelhak Khiame, originally from the working-class neighborhood of Derb Sultan in Casablanca, will now take on the duties of mission officer for the Director General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
Abdelhak Khiame was responsible until his departure for reporting to the press, whether Moroccan or foreign, on the dismantling of terrorist cells.
