Morocco Foils Daesh-Linked Terror Plot, Arrests Three Suspects

The intentions of the members of the terrorist cell dismantled in Inezgane and Ait Melloul by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) are known. They were planning to carry out terrorist operations.
In a statement released on Monday, the BCIJ announced that it had dismantled a terrorist cell composed of three individuals, aged 26 to 28, who had pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed caliph of Daesh. They were planning "to carry out terrorist operations aimed at undermining the security and stability of the kingdom," the same source said.
To achieve their goal, "the members of this terrorist cell were seeking to obtain firearms and products and substances used in the manufacture of explosive devices, while praising the terrorist operations of Daesh in several foreign countries," the BCIJ continued.
The operation of the BCIJ elements proved fruitful: bladed weapons, electronic devices and documents of an extremist nature were seized, and the individuals involved in this enterprise were arrested.
Pending their referral to the public prosecutor, the accused have been placed in custody.
