Moroccan Security Chief Suspends Top Police Officials After Internal Audit

Four officials (a group commander, a divisional commissioner, a chief commissioner and a commissioner) working in the central services of the National Security (DGSN) have been suspended by the Director General of National Security (DGSN), Abdellatif Hammouchi.
These officials have been relieved of their positions of responsibility and temporarily from their work, and the disciplinary council must rule on the administrative aspect of the faults attributed to them and which they would have committed in the exercise of their functions.
In order to strengthen governance and transparency in professional procedures, an audit was conducted by a commission of the General Inspectorate of the National Security. It was at the end of the audit that these officials were suspended, the DGSN indicates in a press release, specifying that the commission noted shortcomings in the functions and personal excesses that the persons concerned had committed in the exercise of the missions and responsibilities entrusted to them.
The Director General of National Security has asked the services of the General Inspectorate to extend the audit to all the functions and activities carried out by the suspended officials throughout the exercise of their functions. The objective is to see if there are other shortcomings or excesses that would be hidden there.
