Moroccan Seasonal Workers Undergo COVID Tests for Return Journey from Spain

In accordance with the health protocol in force in Morocco, the 660 Moroccan seasonal workers stranded in Huelva have been undergoing the required PCR tests since Sunday, pending their embarkation on Tuesday, June 15, on the ferries departing from the port of Algeciras to the port of Tanger Med.
These tests are carried out by the health agents of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS), assisted by integration consultants who have helped with data collection and sampling and will be responsible for compiling the results that the seasonal workers will have to present before boarding.

The Spanish producers’ association Interfresa will proceed on Tuesday, June 15, to the conveyance of these Moroccans to the port of Algeciras from where they will board the boats to join the port of Tanger Med. Like her, other member agricultural organizations are making bus reservations, gathering the seasonal workers in small groups and helping the latter to fill out the necessary travel documents.
These preparations for the repatriation of Moroccan seasonal workers are carried out in coordination with the Government Delegation in Huelva, the Andalusia Council and the port of Huelva.
