Moroccan School Principal Sentenced to 10 Years for Fatal Stabbing of Husband

The Court of Appeal of El Jadida has confirmed the sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment handed down at first instance against a woman, a school principal, accused of having stabbed her husband to death.
The facts date back to July 2023, when the police were alerted to a dispute in a kitchen utensil store located in Sidi Bennour. Once on the scene, the agents saw the 35-year-old pregnant woman who had stabbed her husband. The seriously injured husband as well as the woman were taken to the city hospital where the man finally died a few moments later.
According to the initial elements of the investigation, the woman often argued with her husband for various reasons, including his sexual orientation and his use of another mobile phone to communicate and view adult content. On the day of the incident, the woman seized a knife to threaten her husband to return the phone in question. But the situation escalated, the woman causing fatal injuries to her husband.
Arrested after being transferred to the hospital, the convicted woman admitted the facts. The autopsy performed confirmed the exact cause of the husband’s death. The man died from internal bleeding caused by an injury to the chest and heart. These elements led the Court of Appeal to go in the same direction as the court of first instance and to sentence the woman to 10 years’ imprisonment for blows and injuries resulting in death without intent to give it.
