Moroccan Runners Dominate Men’s Race at Poitiers Marathon in France

Moroccans took the top two spots this Sunday at the 15th Poitiers-Futuroscope marathon. Among the women, no Moroccan in the top three.
Abdelilah El Maimouni took first place in the standings with a time of 2:18:07, several French media report. His compatriot Alaa Hrioued finished the 42 kilometers in 2:22:08, ahead of Ethiopian Masha Haile who crossed the finish line in 2:23:28.
In the women’s race, no Moroccan among the top three of this marathon dominated by Ugandan Immaculate Chemutai in 2:45:43, followed by Frenchwoman Sabrina Gordard-Monmarteau, who arrived more than 15 minutes later (3:02:47) and finally another Frenchwoman Olivia Hartweg (3:03:44).
684 people had taken part in the marathon, while the half-marathon saw the participation of 1,656 runners of different nationalities.
