Moroccan Runner Taoufik Allam Triumphs in Rome Marathon, Clocking 2:07:42

After Dublin last October, Moroccan athlete Taoufik Allam won the 28th edition of the Rome Marathon this Sunday, March 19.
New consecration for Taoufik Allam. He completed the 42.195 km in Rome in 2h07’42, ahead of the Kenyans Wilfred Kigen (2nd in 2h08:44) and Rogers Keror (3rd in 2h10’49). The Kenyan Betty Chepkwony, 27, set a personal best, finishing in 2h23:01. She thus outpaces the Ethiopians Amid Fozya Jemal, 2nd in 2h25:08 and Zinash Getachew, 3rd in 2h25:58.
With this new victory, the Moroccan athlete completes his record. Last October, he had won the Dublin marathon in 2 hours, 11 minutes and 30 seconds, i.e. 2 minutes and 29 seconds ahead of his Ethiopian runner-up Ashenafi Boja.
