Moroccan Runner Triumphs in Dublin Marathon, Ethiopian Takes Women’s Title

The 33-year-old Moroccan Taoufik Allam won the Irish Life Dublin marathon with a time of 2:11:30, less than two minutes off his personal best.
Taoufik Allam crossed the finish line ahead of Ethiopians Ashenafi Boja (2:13:58) and Birhanu Teshome (2:14:25). "I would like to thank the volunteers and my coach. I am very happy to win this race, I have trained a lot in Morocco," he said to The42.
On the women’s side, it was Ethiopian Nigist Muluneh who won the title with a time of 2:28.31. Her compatriot Hawi Alemu Negeri finished second (2:29:33), ahead of Irishwoman Courtney McGuire (2:32:50).
