Moroccan Runner Mohamed Lansi Defends Title at Lucena Half Marathon in Spain

Moroccan athlete Mohamed Lansi won Sunday the ninth edition of the half marathon in the city of Lucena, in which more than 900 athletes participated, with a time of 1:07:37.
Mohamed Lansi from the Club Atletismo Nerja was the favorite to win the Lucena - Race for Equality half marathon, and he won after covering more than 21 kilometers. After the start given by the mayor of Lucena, Juan Pérez, Lansi made it clear to the other runners that he had come to defend his title from last year, seriously widening the gap. At the finish line, he won with a time of 1:07:37, ahead of Jorge Soto (1:09:34) and Diego de la Fuente (1:09:42). Javier Arcas (Gedysa) and Antonio Montero (Trotacalles) finished fourth and fifth in the race, reports La Voz Digital.
Among the women, it was Moroccan Nazha Machrouh (Nerja) who was in the lead from start to finish, and won with a time of 1:24:05, ahead of Britney Briceño (Club Atletismo Málaga) with a time of 1:28:13, and Amelia Salas (Club Atletismo Olvera) with a time of 1:28:45. Fourth place went to Noemí Cabezas (Nerja) and Janine Lima (Club Atletismo Málaga) finished fifth. Nazha Machrouh had won the half marathon for three consecutive years, from 2017 to 2019.
