Moroccan Runner El Guesse Clinches 800m Victory at Lyon Indoor Meet, Eyes 2025 World Championships

Moroccan athlete Abdelati El Guesse won the 800m event last weekend at the indoor meeting in Lyon.
Abdelati El Guesse completed the race in 1 minute 46.36 seconds, ahead of Tunisian Abdessalem Ayouni who finished in 1 minute 46.74 seconds. In third place was the Briton Guy Learmonth, while the Frenchman Hugo Houyez came in 4th.
With these results, the Moroccan athlete has just what it takes to participate in the 2025 Indoor World Championships scheduled to be held in Nanjing, China. It was supposed to take place in 2020, but the International Athletics Federation decided to postpone it due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
