Moroccan Rights Commission Intervenes in Jerada Girl’s School Enrollment Case

Following information and comments on social networks concerning the case of this young girl, the CNDH, through its Regional Commission for the Oriental region, decided to approach the mother and the student concerned. They confirmed the information, adding that her request for re-enrollment has remained unanswered, due to the change of address, the CNDH statement said. It also indicates that it has taken note of the family and social conditions that have disrupted the student’s schooling.
According to the provincial director of national education, due to her unjustified absences during the continuous control exams for the 2017-2018 school year, the student was unable to obtain an annual average to ensure her promotion to the next grade, and for the 2018-2019 school year, she did not set foot in school, the statement said.
The official assures that she can still resume her studies and that her right to continue her studies is guaranteed, the same source said. The provincial directorate has committed to her re-enrollment.
