Moroccan Rif Protesters Call for Paris March on Movement's Anniversary

The detainees of the Hirak of the Rif are back in the spotlight. They are calling on Moroccans in the diaspora to march in Paris on October 26 in memory of the 3rd anniversary of the death of Mohcine Fikri and the birth of the movement.

It is Ahmed Zefzafi, the father of the leader of the Hirak of the Rif, who relayed the information. Nasser Zefzafi and his activist companions are calling on the diaspora to march in Paris. They are also inviting various political and human rights defense forces to participate intensely.

According to Hespress, Ahmed Zefzafi said: "The families are suffering both from the detention of the children of Al Hoceima, but also from the advanced age of the parents and their inability to make frequent visits to prison." This is why Nasser Zefzafi’s father deplores that all initiatives aimed at supporting the movement or pleading for the cause of the detainees are stifled.

In their call, the detainees of the Ras El Ma prison in Fez mentioned the attempts to gag the press, bloggers, before expressing their solidarity with journalists Fatima Ifriqi, Hajar Raïssouni, comedian Ahmed Senoussi (Bziz) and historian Maâti Mounjib who have suffered reprisals for their support for the Hirak of the Rif.
