Moroccan Researcher Wins Prestigious Khalifa Award for Date Palm Innovation

The Khalifa International Award was presented to the Director of Research at the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) in Marrakech, Hasna El Harraq, for her efforts in favor of the date palm and agricultural innovation (Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation).

The Moroccan woman was rewarded in the category "Distinguished Personality in the Field of Date Palm, Dates and Agricultural Innovation", along with a Japanese researcher.

The laureates of the different categories of this award represent an added value that contributes to the date palm sector, says the Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, Abdelwahab Zayed. According to him, this award aims to strengthen the cooperation between the different parties involved in innovative research, cultivation and the date palm agricultural industry.

This distinction aims to encourage people involved in the agricultural sector and the cultivation of date palms, whether researchers, producers, exporters, institutions or global companies and agencies, to adopt these innovations.

Furthermore, this distinction, which is in its 12th edition, also aims to honor influential people in the agriculture and date palm sector, and motivate innovators around the world to find creative solutions useful at the local, regional and international levels.
