Morocco Wins Two Awards at African Union Summit for Climate Action and Agricultural Progress

Morocco’s efforts in the fight against climate change and in agricultural transformation have been recognized and commended on Monday in Addis Ababa. The kingdom was awarded two prizes during the 33rd African Union (AU) Summit.
These are the Award for Best Performance in Climate Change and the Award for Best Performance of the Year 2020 for the implementation of the 2014 Malabo Declaration on the Transformation of African Agriculture. These two awards are a recognition of the efforts made by Morocco in the development process of the African continent, reports the Map.
Africa is the continent most exposed to the effects of climate change, with floods, cyclones, and other consequences such as prolonged drought. Any effort to combat climate change must therefore be commended.
This is why Morocco’s visionary strategy for the development of renewable energies positions the Kingdom at the forefront of the fight against climate change in Africa. Morocco’s expertise is sought after all over the continent.
In the agricultural field, the Green Morocco Plan was cited at the AU Summit as a model that many African countries wish to emulate in order to meet the expectations of their populations in terms of sustainable development.
For the representative of Morocco to the International Organizations in Vienna, Azzedine Farhane, on Monday, "Morocco’s contribution to international efforts to strengthen the international nuclear security regime is rich in content, diversified in its methodology and multifaceted in its dynamics".
