Moroccan Publisher Sues French Political Figure Zemmour Over Website Domain

Abdelkader Retnani, founder of the "La Croisée des Chemins" publishing house, has filed a complaint against Eric Zemmour, the likely future candidate for the 2022 French presidential election. He accuses him of having taken the name of his publishing house as the domain name of his new website.

"Eric Zemmour launched, since September 1st, a website www.croiséedeschemins-ez.fr, for the promotion of his new book ’La France n’a pas dit son dernier mot’, while the Casablanca publishing house ’La Croisée des Chemins’ has existed for forty years already and whose editorial line is based on living together, tolerance," notes Abdelkader Retnani in an interview with L’Opinion.ma.

After making this observation, the founder of the "La Croisée des Chemins" publishing house filed a complaint against the French writer. "I reacted by filing a complaint, two weeks ago, with the French justice, in order to enlighten the French and international public opinion and explain my position vis-à-vis this individual," he said, describing Eric Zemmour as a "racist and fascist".

"As a Moroccan, a publisher, known in the public arena for my ideas, my fight for living together, tolerance, and for understanding the other, it is impossible for me to share his ideas. I don’t want the name of the publishing house to be linked to a person who wants to expel all Muslims and Arabs," continued Abdelkader Retnani, confident that the French justice will say the right thing "to avoid the amalgam that exists".
