Zemmour Urges French Muslims to ’Assimilate’, Sparking Controversy

The now presidential candidate for 2022, Eric Zemmour, has launched an appeal to Muslims in France. An appeal that is causing controversy.
True to the ideology he defends, Eric Zemmour once again attacked Muslims. He who aspires to lead France and says he wants to be the president of all the French, including those of the Muslim faith, has launched an appeal to Muslims in France. [...] I distinguish Islam and Muslims. I call on all Muslims to assimilate and renounce the practice of Islam which consists in imposing a legal and political code. Many Muslims who can hear this discourse," declared the candidate for the 2022 presidential election during his passage on TF1.
In a 10-minute video posted on social media, Eric Zemmour officially announced his candidacy for the next presidential election on Tuesday, November 30. ’"My dear compatriots, [...] like you, I have decided to take our destiny into our own hands. [...] It is no longer time to reform France, but to save it. I have decided to run for the presidential election. [...] Long live the Republic, and above all long live France!" He intends to "save" France, to ensure that the French "feel at home again". The former print journalist, former CNews commentator is credited with nearly 18% of voting intentions, reports Le Figaro.
