Moroccan Pop Star Saâd Lamjarred Faces Multiple Rape Allegations

Monday 11 February 2019, by Bladi.net

The magazine Sept à Huit returned on Sunday to the Saâd Lamjarred case with the broadcast of a report on the French television channel TF1. 20 minutes of reporting to summarize the legal troubles of the Moroccan star, but also and above all, to give a voice to his alleged victims.

Following his release under judicial supervision in early December, the magazine Sept à Huit decided to return to the course of the case of the Arab pop prince and interview several protagonists involved in the various accusations against Saâd Lamjarred.

The show gives the floor to the two alleged victims of the singer, one of whom is a Moroccan who talks about a rape that would have occurred in Casablanca. Having met Saâd Lamjared at a party in April 2015, shortly afterwards she finds herself with him in his bachelor pad and she claims to have been raped three times. Listening to her description, it seems similar to that of Laura Prioul, namely a man who suddenly changes behavior, sometimes gentle, sometimes violent. The victim continues her story by recounting that once at the police station, the Moroccan police refuse to record her complaint. She turned to lawyers, who rejected her request, as did the gynecologist who did not want to examine her.

The second case is that of a Franco-Moroccan who had filed a complaint in Paris before withdrawing it. She confides in a long letter handed over to the reporters of the show that she was raped by the singer. When she tells the facts to her parents, the latter order her to withdraw the complaint, in order to avoid any scandal.

The show also mentions financial arrangements proposed by the Moroccan star’s entourage. Thus, Laura Prioul was offered 500,000 euros then 1 million euros to "leave Saâd alone". The same goes for the seasonal worker in Saint Tropez who would have received a proposal of 200,000 euros to withdraw her complaint.
