Moroccan Police Report: Over 745,000 Security Interventions in 2019
A few days before the end of the year, it’s time for a review at the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN). In total, its services carried out 745,283 security interventions on public roads.
The process of generalizing command and coordination rooms connected to the mobile units of the emergency police has been continued in order to intensify security coverage, ensure the permanent mobility of patrols on public roads and optimize police operations and response times, said the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in a press release on its report for the year 2019 and its action program for 2020.
In this regard, the DGSN has created two new command and coordination rooms in the police prefectures of Fez and Tangier, which work in coordination with the mobile patrols deployed on the ground. A third will be inaugurated at the Kenitra police prefecture. Similarly, the national security services have created twenty-four new security structures as part of the support for urban expansion and the proximity of security services to citizens.
These actions have borne fruit: citizens’ calls have multiplied, reaching 2,098,139 this year for 745,283 successful security interventions on public roads, the same source said.
Furthermore, the DGSN said it has continued the project to generalize the police station management system (GESTARR), which allows the digitization of documents from all police services, the strengthening of their control mechanisms and the simplification of administrative document issuance procedures for citizens.
