Monday 23 December 2024, by Said

The elements of the judicial police of the Settat police prefecture have succeeded in dismantling a dangerous criminal gang specialized in the search and prospecting of treasures. The members of this gang, from different regions, were digging in order to extract a treasure.

The Settat police services had received information indicating that individuals foreign to the city were digging at a location on the outskirts of the city, with the intention of extracting a treasure or a precious deposit. This prompted a team of agents to intervene immediately on the spot. The suspects involved in this case were arrested, and the tools they used for digging as well as for performing the rituals related to the extraction of the treasure were seized.

The initial investigations carried out by the investigators, from the Settat police prefecture and under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office of the Settat Court of First Instance, revealed the involvement of a police inspector working in Rabat. This individual was wanted for crimes involving the use of a firearm and participation in the search for treasures and precious objects without authorization. This inspector could be the mastermind of this gang.

On the orders of the competent Settat Court of First Instance public prosecutor’s office, the arrested persons were placed in custody pending their appearance before the same court, so that they could be prosecuted for the acts with which they are charged, in accordance with the law.
