Moroccan Police Arrest 25-Year-Old Suspected of Bank Card Phishing Scam

The judicial police of Benslimane arrested on Monday a 25-year-old individual suspected of hacking bank payment cards and using them to access the automatic data processing systems of bank customers.
According to the statements of the complainants, relayed by Akhbarona, the man was posing as a world-famous celebrity who offered his victims the chance to win several lots of computer equipment by participating in online contests.
Using the phishing technique, the individual easily managed to recover the banking data of his victims, before using it for personal purchases of online products or services.
The investigations carried out by the scientific police services revealed that the suspect was in the habit of hacking social media accounts for fraudulent purposes. The individual managed to steal money from the contacts of his victims, including foreign nationals.
