Moroccan Party Leader Criticizes Dual Citizenship of Government Officials

Isaac Charia, president of the Moroccan Liberal Party (PML), believes that dual nationality is incompatible with high public office. He has in his sights dual-national ministers and elected officials.
"Dual-national officials, this is a central point. There are ministers and elected officials who hold positions of high political or economic responsibility, and who have French nationality. In reality, dual nationality is incompatible with high public office, I want to reiterate this," analyzes Isaac Charia, president of the Moroccan Liberal Party, in an intervention on Facebook.
To support his remarks, he explains that the multiple allegiances of some of Akhannouch’s ministers "tarnish" not only "national sovereignty" but also "create conflicts of competence and conflicts of rights". "How can we face French provocations with dual-national ministers?" asked the political actor. According to him, "sole allegiance is essential".
