Moroccan Palais Ronsard Wins UNESCO’s ’World’s Most Beautiful Restaurant’ Award

After the Kénitra train station in 2009, the Palais Ronsard won the Versailles Prize for the most beautiful restaurant in the world on Thursday in Paris. It is awarded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the International Union of Architects.
This global award for architecture and design recognizes the most impressive creations in terms of architecture, both interior and exterior. Six regions, namely Africa and West Asia, Central, South and the Caribbean Americas, North America, Central and Northeast Asia, South Asia and the Pacific, and Europe, are covered by this award.
Several criteria were taken into account to award this distinction. These include innovation, creativity, echo to local, natural and cultural heritage, environmental performance, as well as the values of conviviality and participation, for which the United Nations grant the prize.
The Palais Ronsard, a masterpiece by interior architect Gil Dez, is located near the famous Jamaa el-Fna square. This oasis of peace combines Moroccan tradition and Art Deco spirit.
