Moroccan-Owned Finres Acquires Italian Club AC Prato in €800,000 Deal, Saving Serie D Team

AC Prato, an Italian club playing in Serie D, has a new owner: Finres S.p.A., a financial holding company based in Florence, owned by a Moroccan.
"Humanativa Group has sold 100% of the club’s shares. The deed of transfer of 100% of the shares of AC Prato to the company Finres S.p.A., a financial holding company based in Florence, has been formalized," the club announced in a press release. "A total transaction worth more than 800,000 euros, through which the new owner will take over all the club’s debts. Finres S.p.A. will proceed to pay the outstanding salaries of the players and technical staff, an essential condition to finalize the registration of AC Prato for the next Serie D championship, by July 21 at the latest," the note added.
The club’s president, Stefano Commini, will remain in office until all the necessary procedures for the club’s registration for the 2025/2026 season are completed, it is specified. "My joy is great because the club is saved: that’s what matters," said the vice-president of the FIGC Toscana. And he added: "Now we need to understand what the intentions are of those who have bought the club. As for Commini, he has done his job as an entrepreneur, selling the club at a higher price. For local entrepreneurs, on the other hand, there must be regrets: it is a missed opportunity for them. The fact that it was Finres that had to intervene to save Prato should be a subject of reflection."
Finres is an industrial holding company that controls Alpha General Contractor (operating in the construction and major works sector), third in the ranking of the 2025 Growth Leaders established by Il Sole 24 Ore and Statista. Founded and led since the end of 2019 by the 31-year-old Moroccan Asmaa Gacem, the company achieved a turnover of 60 million euros and 3.7 million in profits in 2023, compared to 658,000 euros and zero profit in 2020.
