Moroccan Officials Donate Month’s Salary to COVID-19 Relief Fund

The presidents of constitutional and national institutions and bodies have decided to donate one month’s salary to the Special Fund for the Management of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The presidents of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), the National Human Rights Council (CNDH), the Ombudsman Institution of the Kingdom, the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA), the Competition Council, the National Anti-Corruption Authority, the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP) and the Commission on the Right of Access to Information announced this decision in a joint press release.

This initiative was taken by the heads of these institutions and bodies as part of the general mobilization the country is experiencing to address the repercussions of the new coronavirus epidemic, and as a sign of involvement in this national dynamic.

Invoking the institutional principles and the values of support, synergy and national solidarity to which Moroccans have adhered to bear the costs and burdens resulting from the various disasters and crises, they have decided to contribute one month’s salary to the Special Fund for the Management of the Coronavirus Pandemic - Covid-19, set up on royal instructions.

In addition, the presidents of these institutions intend to support all citizen initiatives aimed at limiting the consequences of this epidemic.
