Moroccan Officials Charged in Murder Cover-Up on Farm Near Benslimane

A municipal official in Benslimane, his son and the night watchman, as well as three other people are being prosecuted for the murder of a young man.
The facts date back to mid-August, when a young man was found dead hanging from a tree on a farm belonging to the vice-president of the municipal council of Sidi Bettach in the province of Bensilmane.
The daily Al Akhbar reports that the accused tried to disguise this murder as a suicide by hanging the victim’s body on the branch of a tree located on the farm.
But the autopsy and other evidence gathered by the gendarmes implicated the farm owner, his son and the other accomplices. The accused had even disconnected the cameras before committing their crime, the investigations revealed.
Thus, they are being prosecuted for voluntary homicide with premeditation, participation and non-denunciation of a crime.
It turned out, the newspaper indicates, that an old conflict opposed the two families and that on many occasions the municipal official and his son had threatened the victim, who was barely 24 years old, before committing this heinous act.
