In addition to the death penalty, the convicted persons must pay compensation of 500,000 dirhams to the victim’s family and one symbolic dirham to the National Observatory of Children’s Rights, which has joined the case as a civil party, reports the MAP.
It was in November 2019 that parts of the lifeless body of a male child were found in a landfill in Larache. Thorough research and investigations led to the identification of the victim, who was 7 years old. The rest of the body was found in a refrigerator at his father’s home. The search operations made it possible to find the rest of the body in a refrigerator in the family home. The victim was strangled before being mutilated.
