Around forty illegal immigrants were rescued off the coast of the province of Al-Hoceima by the Royal Moroccan Navy. They had crammed onto an inflatable boat that capsized at sea.
The rescue operation took place between the coasts of the city of Nador and the city of Melilla. According to the Spanish media, when the inflatable boat sank, the stowaways found themselves in the water, desperately fighting the waves.
After the rescue operation, the Royal Navy, according to the same source, docked at the port of Beni Ensar so that the necessary care could be provided to the stowaways, who would all be of sub-Saharan origin.
