Moroccan Model Dies in Police Custody After Arrest in Fez

Held in pre-trial detention, along with her boyfriend who was the subject of a national arrest warrant, a Moroccan model died on Saturday, January 25, at the University Hospital Center of Fez.
Arriving in Fez, from Kettama, the young Top model, in her thirties, and her boyfriend, had been arrested at a checkpoint in the city, then placed in pre-trial detention, pending the end of the investigation.
Remaining 5 days in a row at the police station, Camélia Laabi, whose real name is Kamilia El Marrakchi, diabetic and unable to withstand the conditions of detention, ended up having a crisis, requiring her immediate hospitalization.
The young model was taken, last Friday, to the CHU Hassan II in Fez, following the deterioration of her health, before passing away the next day in the late afternoon.
