Moroccan Minister Urges Expats to Boost Real Estate Sector at Paris Expo

A call to Moroccans residing abroad has just been addressed by the Minister of Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy, Abdelahad Fassi Fehri. They are thus asked to get more involved in the revival of the real estate sector in Morocco.
The Minister thus recalled, during a speech, at the opening of the Real Estate Show, "SMAP Immo", in Paris, that this sector employed one million people and contributed, up to 7%, to GDP.
For the Minister, housing must be accessible, qualitative and adapted to the purchasing power of households. "These are the three priorities to guarantee to achieve our objectives," he said. He recalled that the "Rabat-Salé-Kénitra" region is one of the 5 ("Casa-Settat", "Tanger-Tétouan–Al Hoceima", "Rabat-Salé-Kénitra", "Marrakech-Safi" and "Fès-Meknès") where demand is the most accentuated, with more than 78% of the total demand for housing, diversified, in terms of standing and financing capacities.
For his part, the President of the "Rabat-Salé-Kénitra" Region, Abdessamad Seqal, affirmed that this Show constitutes an opportunity for Moroccan residents in France and for French and European visitors, to inquire about the news of the national real estate market and to get information on the real estate projects offered by the exhibitors who came from all the regions of Morocco.
In total, about a hundred exhibitors are participating in this show, which is in its 16th edition today.
