Moroccan Military Denies New Base Near Algerian Border, Clarifies Troop Housing Project

The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have provided a formal denial of the information published by some online media about the alleged construction of a new military base in the province of Jerada, near the border with Algeria.
The FAR are building a military barracks in Jerada as part of the overall project to relocate military barracks. This project aims to free up urban land throughout the kingdom.
The same source specifies that this is a small barracks for the purpose of housing troops located 38 kilometers from the eastern border of the kingdom. This barracks does not have the dimension of a military base, it is indicated. Moreover, other barracks have been erected in the same geographical area.
Contrary to the information disseminated in public opinion, this new barracks will not be operational. It is part of a plan to relocate military infrastructure located in urban centers, implemented in recent years.
