Moroccan Man Offers to Sell Kidney to Fund Mother’s Urgent Liver Surgery

A Moroccan woman is suffering from cirrhosis of the liver and needs urgent surgery. Without health coverage and financial means, her son says he is ready to sell his kidney to save her.
For the doctors of the private clinic in Casablanca, the only possible treatment is to resort to surgical intervention, the rates of which are considered excessive. Without financial means, Achraf says he has launched a cry for help to the Minister of Health Khalid Ait Taleb and to charitable souls inside and outside the country. Without success. He then made the decision to sacrifice his kidney to save his mother’s life.
His story touched the French association L’îlot câlins which launched an online fundraiser to help him. A digital platform has been made available to donors: www.cotizup.com/unfoiepourfatima.
