Moroccan Man Jailed for Alleged Murder of Ex-Wife and Children in Spain

The Court of First Instance of San Clemente (Cuenca) has ordered the provisional detention without bail of the Moroccan accused of the murder of his ex-wife and his two children in Las Pedroñeras.
The accused is being prosecuted for three counts of murder and violation of sentence, according to sources from the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha to EFE. The case came to light after the discovery of the bodies of Amal, the defendant’s ex-wife, and her two children in a building near their home. The woman, also of Moroccan origin, had filed a complaint for domestic violence against the defendant with the Court of First Instance of San Clemente last October.
The judge had sentenced the latter to a sentence of 40 days of community service (TIG), a ban on possessing and carrying weapons, approaching the woman and communicating with her for a period of 16 months. Following this decision in force since December 2023, the defendant could only approach or communicate with the victim in February 2025. But the Moroccan found a way to enter the victim’s home without arousing suspicion.
The defendant dug a hole from a neighboring building to that of his family and killed the woman and their two children, aged about 5 and 7 years old. It is in this building that the three bodies were found on Friday. The residents of Las Pedroñeras were shocked by this tragedy. They organized a tribute on Monday in memory of Amal and her children. With the help of the government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, the bodies of the victims will be repatriated to Morocco, their country of origin.
