Moroccan Man Fatally Shot in Spanish Bar Dispute; Suspect Arrested

In Murcia, a 39-year-old Moroccan received three bullets in the chest on Sunday, June 13 and succumbed to his injuries the next day. The alleged murderer was arrested and then taken into custody.
The events took place in the evening of last Sunday in a bar-café on the Plaza del Muelle next to the new marina of Puerto de Mazarrón. According to witnesses, a dispute had broken out between two individuals. A dispute that quickly turned into tragedy. One shot three bullets into the other’s chest. The victim, a 39-year-old Moroccan, died in the morning of Monday at the emergency room of the Arrixaca hospital in El Palmar, a few kilometers south of the city of Murcia, reports Murcia Today.
Alerted, the police arrived at the scene. They managed to arrest a 52-year-old man at 10:30 p.m. as he was running along the Playa del Rihuete beach. During his arrest, he had the murder weapon in his possession. According to cross-checks, the alleged murderer is a former member of the armed forces based at the Palancrerai air base (home of the parachute squadron). He had left the army years earlier. The suspect suffered from psychological problems, local media report.
According to El Español, this is a racially motivated crime. The man would have expressed his intention to "attack all Arabs".
