Moroccan Man and Mistress Jailed for Kidnapping and Abusing Wife in France

Mohamed Oulmhain, a Moroccan living in Saint-Calais (Sarthe) kidnapped his wife with the complicity of his mistress. The Mans Correctional Court sentenced the two defendants to prison terms on Monday.

The events took place in Saint-Calais between 2014 and 2016. The Moroccan expatriate, a 51-year-old man, was violent, insulting and imposed sexual relations on his wife. In 2014, the 46-year-old mother left the home without her children and returned two months later, reports Actu.fr. She filed a complaint against her husband. Turnaround: she withdraws the complaint. Her husband would have put pressure on her.

Moreover, a neighbor recounts having discovered one day an SOS among his rose bushes, which alerts to the violence suffered. He declares to have witnessed the "deterioration" of his neighbor. He is not the only witness. In 2016, the gendarmes had gone to the couple’s home as part of a debt collection procedure. They had found that the woman was living in the attic of the house and was deprived of freedom and food. She would have "stolen the children’s food". Meanwhile, Mohamed Oulmhain was living a beautiful love story with his mistress, a tenant of the adjoining house.

"My hunger was long. Today, I am living again," testifies the victim. She speaks with difficulty and walks with a limp in front of the criminal court. She now lives with a host family. At the bar, her husband explains that their marriage was not working.

The verdict is in: Mohamed Oulmhain was sentenced to 5 years in prison, including 30 months suspended. His accomplice, for her part, received 18 months in prison, including 12 suspended.
